Announcement Update

Due to an amazing opportunity put before me, I must put this project on hold for a little while as this will consume 99.9% of my time.

I’ll continue making coffee cozies as I’ll be selling them exclusively at my own cafe! Once things settle down, about three months or so, I’ll make time to post what I have created.

I am sad I won’t have the time to create and show you pretty things as often as I wanted. But I hope you understand that I am not completely abandoning this project or you. When your dream is offered to you it’s silly not to grab it.

Although, I seriously see myself crocheting at night before I go to sleep…

Crochet Meetup

Tonight was the first meeting I attended of the local crochet meetup. I must admit that I was nervous at first, expecting to be the only person my age and not have anyone to really talk to. Luckily, I was proved wrong.

There were about 25-30 women that were there. Ages 23 up to 70. So there was a great variety of beginner to advanced crocheters- talent and mentors. Tonight, they were working on granny square Afghans.

I have attempted one granny square and it didn’t exactly turn out well. Even after three hours of fiddling and getting frustrated with it. One woman was nice enough to teach me the correct way. I must admit, it was easier and turned out better than I expected.

Day 45 – Girly Camo

I really liked this yarn as a ball so of course I had to try it out. Except I wasn’t expecting it to turn into a pastel camouflage.

I still haven’t decided if I like this cozie. Just hope someone does.

Project Update

I knew there would be less free time this month to work on this project. I’m still on track with my crochet. Just not so much with posting.

I’ve made a few more coffee cozies and what started out as a purse turned into a hat and turned out pretty well. I’ll try to get everything posted soon. Can’t wait to show you what I’ve made.

Also, I found a crochet meetup that I want to start going to next week.

I’m still trying to figure out what to make myself for my birthday since I haven’t made anything personal yet. I’m thinking another attempt at a purse, a scarf, or start a new stitch with my first blanket…hmm

Day 42 – Hugs

I found this pretty pink color changing yarn to get ready for Valentine’s that reminds me of lipstick and cotton candy.

Day 41 – Purple Ripples

The ripple stitch has become on of my favorite stitches so far. I wanted to continue trying different styles with it. I really like the texture for this one.
